The Lidl supermarket project presented several unique challenges. With large working areas and varying working heights of 5-6 meters, effective temperature control was crucial. Additionally, critical equipment in the IT and cash rooms generated significant heat, necessitating precise cooling solutions. Ensuring the reliability of these systems was paramount to prevent any disruption to store operations.

Our team devised a comprehensive HVAC solution to address these challenges:

Daikin VRF 3-Pipe Heat Recovery System

We installed a Daikin VRF 3-pipe heat recovery system, featuring 7 fan coil units strategically placed across the main warehouse and staff areas. Each indoor unit was connected to its dedicated BC box, which intelligently managed energy transfer within the system while drawing energy from both indoor and outdoor units. This system offered efficient and precise temperature control throughout the store.

Specialist Lifting Equipment

Given the substantial working heights of 5-6 meters in certain areas, we utilized specialized lifting equipment to ensure the safe and accurate installation of wall-mounted and ceiling cassette units.

Split Units for Critical Rooms

In the ground floor IT and cash rooms, we installed two wall-mounted split units. These rooms housed critical equipment that generated significant heat during operation. Using split systems isolated from the main VRF system ensured that any errors or faults within the primary HVAC system would not impact the critical rooms, preventing potential equipment overheating and downtime.

VRF 2-Pipe Heat Pump Condensers

To support the main air handling unit responsible for supplying fresh air throughout the shop and warehouse areas, we installed two VRF 2-pipe heat pump condensers. These units enhanced the overall HVAC system’s efficiency and capacity.
